The 31-year-old was due to marry his fiancee Kristin Scott in a lavish Byron Bay wedding in front of 150 guests on Tuesday, The Daily Telegraph reports.
Guests were informed of the cancellation until Christmas Eve, which had been attributed to the Covid-19 outbreak in Sydney.
The Telegraph reported that the wedding was canceled due to the exchange of text messages between Pearce and the anonymous woman.
Since then, the incident has been reported to Knights management.
“The Newcastle Knights are aware of the problem, but it is a private matter that remains between the two people,” said a spokesman for the Knights.

Pearce told The Telegraph that the couple, who got engaged earlier this year, are “fixing things.”
“It’s a really stressful time for us. It’s our business, nobody else’s,” he said. “We haven’t canceled, we have postponed it. I’m dirty with people spreading rumors.”
An unidentified source said there had been “nothing physical” between the couple, calling the incident “stupid on Mitchell’s behalf” instead.
“A lot of people are upset about it,” they added.
The couple are believed to have spent Christmas Day with their respective families.
Pearce was fined $ 125,000 and suspended for eight NRL games in 2016 following a drunken incident in 2016.
