Black Cap Henry Nicholls will hit in the first inning against Pakistan, even though he suffered a left calf strain while batting at Hagley Oval on Monday.

Nicholls, who is at 89, will take the fold with Kane Williamson, who is at 112.

He suffered the tension late in the second day when New Zealand moved to 286-3 in response to Pakistan’s 297, but was cleared to hit after a net session Tuesday morning.
