This comes after Sunday’s Newshub-Reid Research poll results showed National was up 4.5 percentage points from the last poll, falling just below 30 percent.

The traditional left – Labor and the Greens – fell a combined 10 percentage points in the Newshub-Reid Research poll (the Greens were up 0.8 percentage points), while the traditional right – National and ACT – were up 7.5 points.

However, they continue to languish well behind the Labor Party, which is 50.1 percent down, down 10.8 points. This result would bring them to 61 seats in Parliament, enough to govern alone.

Newshub-Reid Research survey results:

Labor Party: 47 percent (1 percent down)

National Party: 33 percent (2 percent more)

ACT – 8 percent (up to 1 percent)

Green Party: 7 percent (up to 1 percent)

New Zealand 1st: 1 percent (1 percent less)

New Conservative: 1 percent (1 percent less)

The Opportunities Party – 1 percent

Maori party – 1 percent
