Labor’s proposal to build a light rail from Auckland CBD to the airport was established in the wake of the 2017 elections.
But Collin has said it’s another promise they’ve broken.
“Nothing has happened, I mean Jacinda Ardern promised to start next year. Nothing has happened.”
Labor Minister of Transport Phil Twyford told Magic Talk in June that he is disappointed that they have not made any progress.
“I would hope, although I am terribly disappointed that we have not made the progress that we wanted in this term of office, that the next government will take it and execute it,” Twyford said.
Collins added that it would go directly to National’s infrastructure plan.
In July, National announced a $ 31 billion plan that promises to fix the transportation network and the congestion crisis in Auckland and surrounding areas.
“When will we see it completed?” AM Show host Duncan Garner asked him Wednesday.
“Well, it’s in the plan that we’ll do it, but the main thing is Duncan, you can’t finish it until you start it,” he replied.
“The work will start anyway in terms of paperwork.
“After my cup of tea.”
