New Zealand has been compared to Nazi Germany by a far-right British politician, who said that the Covid-19 Isolation and Quarantine (MIQ) protocol run by Aotearoa was “absolutely horrible.”

New Zealand was operating a “fascist government” under Jacinda Ardern, the former vice chair of the UK Independence Party (UKIP), Suzanne Evans, wrote on Twitter.
Evans, co-author of the party’s electoral manifesto, asked Amnesty International to intervene in a tweet before continuing her criticism in a series of tweets.
“The only thing more depressing than having to tweet this is having to tweet about responses that top what Ardern is doing. As I said before, I could never understand Nazi Germany in the 1930s. Now it is too obvious how it happened, “he wrote.
He also retweeted people who had written that NZ MIQ hotels were “quarantine camps” and claimed that kiwis can be “forcibly removed” if they are deemed to pose a risk to their homes.
Returning kiwis must undergo a 14-day period of self-isolation in a hotel, and individuals must be tested on days 3 and 12. No one can leave without returning a negative test.
Since the Covid-19 outbreak in Auckland in August, those who tested positive for the virus have been placed in quarantine facilities, unless they have been able to find a suitable alternative.
