Finance Minister Grant Robertson said he recognized that “some companies face one-time costs or cash flow impacts when we raise an alert level to follow public health advice.”
“The payment is structured to provide greater support to smaller businesses that are more likely to face cash flow problems, but will be available to all businesses and sole proprietorships.”

The justice minister has also been asked to go back and reexamine options for future support of commercial lease negotiations, which the Cabinet will discuss early next year.
“We will also maintain the Leave Assistance Plan and complement it with the introduction of a new Short Term Leave Pay to also cover eligible workers who need to stay home while they wait for the Covid-19 test result,” says Robertson .
“This will be a one-time payment of $ 350 to employers to pay workers who need to stay home while they wait for a test or while someone who is their dependent does it, according to public health councils.”
Other supports that are still in place include loan products, the Enterprise Financing Guarantee Scheme, which will run until June 2021 with additional availability and flexibility, and the Small Business Cash Flow Scheme, which has also recently been extended. .
