Mystery man pays for all Christmas breaks at Australia’s Toyworld store

A mysterious Queensland man called his local Toyworld in Queensland, Australia, with a surprise that shocked shoppers and the store.

The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, paid for all the outstanding Christmas breaks at the store.

There were about 60 layoffs it paid for, the store confirmed with news.com.au.

“A gentleman called and said he wanted to pay for some Christmas items as a gesture to help others,” said the clerk.

“He said he was in a position where he could help and paid for several Christmas breaks to help local children.”

The incredible act of Christmas generosity has helped so many people who found themselves in financial trouble this year, the shop assistant said.

The assistant said they have been able to “play Santa Claus” when customers call and come to pay for their vacation.

“It was fabulous,” he said.

“It was amazing – there has been everything from shock to immediate crying.

“A gentleman, when he found out, he was absolutely stunned. He said, ‘You have no idea how this will help you.’ He said, ‘I haven’t had enough work. You have no idea,'” he said. .

“Everyone who has called and walked in has been stunned, amazed and excited.

“People are calling the phone saying, ‘Is it true?’

“Yesterday a lady came, an old woman who has only been paying $ 5 here and there for Christmas presents from her grandchildren. I said, ‘Merry Christmas, it was all worth it’ and she said, ‘What do you mean?’

“I told him the story and the show was so stunned that he couldn’t believe it. She said, ‘Is it real?

“He was shaking. He said he had never heard of something like this before.”

The generous man was inspired by an anonymous woman in Gold Coast who did the same thing last week when she walked into Mr Toys Toyworld in Burleigh Waters and paid A $ 16,000 (NZ $ 16,994) in customer boxes, the assistant explained.

“He said he had seen the story about the same thing that happened in the Gold Coast and that inspired him,” said the assistant.

“It’s absolutely lovely.”

The clerk added that the man “didn’t want publicity” and just “wanted to do something nice.”
