Morrinsville celebrates: $ 5.5 million wins the Lotto as Jacinda Ardern sails to election victory

This would have to be the most important night in Morrinsville history.

Its most famous former resident prime minister, Jacinda Ardern, is heading for a landslide electoral victory.

And now someone has won $ 5.5 million in Lotto tonight.

Purchased from Paper Plus in Morrinsville, the ticket won $ 5 million from Powerball First Division and $ 500,000 from Lotto First Division in tonight’s drawing.

A ticket purchased at Countdown Maidstone in Upper Hutt won the other half million Lotto First Division, but did not have the Powerball number.

Strike Four was renewed tonight and will be $ 800,000 on Wednesday.

Ardern was born in Hamilton in 1980 and raised in Murupara and Morrinsville, famous for working at the fish and chip shop as a teenager.

She was also the student representative on the Morrinsville College Board of Trustees.

Morrinsville is a provincial city in the Waikato region with a population of approximately 7,000.
