Police have seized firearms and drugs in a raid on Mob Mongrel in Hamilton.

The Waikato Organized Crime Team, with the support of AOS, completed five search warrants against addresses linked to Mongrel Mob in the Hamilton region this morning.

Police say they found firearms, ammunition, cash, methamphetamine, cannabis, and recovered a stolen Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

A 38-year-old man faces charges of participation in an organized criminal group, conspiracy to supply methamphetamine and possession of cannabis for supply.

A 22-year-old man is charged with perverting the course of justice, possession of methamphetamine for supply, illegal possession of a pistol, illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition, supply of MDMA (Class B) and possession for supply MDMA (Class SECOND).

Both men are due to appear in Hamilton District Court today.

“Our focus remains firmly on the organized crime groups that benefit from the supply of methamphetamine to the most vulnerable members of our community,” said Detective Inspector Graham Pitkethley.

“We know that greed continues to be an engine for these criminals who promote drugs and suck money from those in our community who can least afford it.”
