Almost seven days have passed since Lotto announced that the multi-million dollar drawing had been won in Powerball.
Lotto’s head of communications and corporate social responsibility, Marie Winfield, said that anyone who purchased a ticket for the drawing on October 17 was required to verify their ticket.
“We encourage anyone who has purchased their ticket at Paper Plus Morrinsville … to review their tickets – you could be New Zealand’s newest billionaire.”

While most claim their prize within days of winning, some leave it a little longer.
In 2014, a couple from Hamilton sat on their $ 16.2 million prize for 10 days.
