Methamphetamine with a street value of $ 400,000, along with cash and a firearm were seized in a raid on a property in South Wairarapa on Friday.
A police raid on a property in South Wairarapa seized methamphetamine with a street value of $ 400,000.
About 500 grams of the drug, also known as “P,” was found along with $ 12,000 in cash and a sawed-off shotgun with ammunition at the Martinborough address on Friday.
A 25-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman were arrested for possession of methamphetamine for the illegal supply and possession of a firearm. Both appeared in Masterton District Court on Friday afternoon.
Detective Sergeant Shaun Richardson said a seizure would prevent considerable social harm.

“The amount of methamphetamine seized today was potentially destined for hundreds, if not thousands, of people.”
The raid was part of ongoing police efforts to target people seeking to profit from the suffering of the most vulnerable in society, he said.
