A centennial from Melbourne, Australia, headed home from hospital after making a noticeable recovery from Covid-19.
Roy Bartlett spent six weeks fighting for his life at St Vincent’s Private Hospital after contracting coronavirus at a nursing home.
The centennial, who was discharged from the hospital on Monday, checked into a nursing home for respite after recovering from pneumonia at the hospital.
But when Covid-19 hit the nursing home, Bartlett ended up back in the hospital after testing positive for the virus.
However, he defied the odds and recovered from the deadly disease, in an incredible victory that came as no real surprise to his family.

Bartlett gave an emotional farewell to the hospital team by emerging in fiddle-like form.
“The whole family will always be in their debt for taking care of him and obviously putting their own lives and the lives of their own family at risk to take care of him,” said granddaughter Lauren Penrose.
The man is an avid soccer fan, his father Alf Bartlett playing on Fitzroy’s 1904 prime minister team.
But unlike his beloved Fitzroy, he is a survivor.
The centenary, who lost his wife for 70 years last year, is living proof that human life has no expiration date.
