Marco Rubio made antics on Twitter for criticizing Fauci after receiving the COVID-19 vaccine

Marco Rubio, who has previously downplayed the coronavirus pandemic, is receiving a lot of attention on Twitter for publicly criticizing Dr. Anthony Fauci after receiving the Covid-19 vaccine.

Earlier this month, Rubio was one of the few notable politicians who contracted the virus for the first time.

“I am so confident that the # Covid19 vaccine is safe and effective that I decided to take it myself.” Rubio said in a tweet shared on December 19.

In the past, Rubio has been seen without a mask in large gatherings despite the increase in cases of the virus. Despite taking the opportunity to get vaccinated, Rubio decided to criticize Fauci in a tweet Sunday.

“Dr. Fauci lied about the masks in March,” he wrote.

“Dr. Fauci has been distorting the level of vaccination necessary for herd immunity. It’s not just him. Many in the elite bubbles believe that the American public does not know ‘what is happening to them,’ so they must be misled into ‘doing the right thing.’

His tweet appears to reference how, in March, Fauci did not suggest that face coverings and masks were a priority at the time because there was a shortage of supplies. Instead, he said, these supplies should go to front-line workers who are most at risk.

Fauci had also suggested that for the controversial “herd immunity” to work, between 70 and 85 percent of the US population would have to be vaccinated. Rubio, however, seems to think Fauci is grossly overestimating the figure. This is, of course, after he publicly received the vaccine whose importance he had downplayed.

Needless to say, Twitter is having a field day with Rubio’s hypocrisy as many are denouncing his irresponsibility by questioning one of America’s leading infectious disease experts at such a critical time.
