A Maori public health group in west Auckland has confirmed that one of its employees tested positive for Covid-19.
Hāpai Te Hauora is a Henderson-based non-clinical public health service advocating for better Maori health policy.
In a statement, he said that a staff member was in self-isolation after being diagnosed with Covid-19.
He said that most of his staff had continued to work from home under alert level 2, with precautions for those who needed to use office spaces, so the risk of spreading to other kaimahi was low.
Auckland Regional Public Health Services (ARPHS) said they had identified the person’s close contacts and that they had been contacted and advised to get tested and self-isolate for a full 14 days.
He said the risk to other unidentified staff as close contacts and to employees working for other organizations in the same building was considered very low.
