Police were called to an assault in Hoon Hay, Christchurch at 3.17pm.
One person was seriously injured after being stabbed during an assault in Christchurch.

They were called to Hoon Hay Road, Hoon Hay, at around 3:15 pm on Saturday after a report of a man being seriously assaulted.
The man received stab wounds in the incident and was taken to hospital in serious condition.
At this stage, the police believe that the parties involved knew each other and several people are assisting with the investigations.

In a separate incident, police were called to an address on Dinton Street, Russley at around 4.45pm following reports of disorder, where various parties were fighting on the street.
Those involved are believed to have been at a party nearby. Police attended and dispersed the crowd. No arrests were made.
