“[You’re a] group of cowards. My body, my choice, have you heard of it before? I’m a fucking human being, I’m not a slave, “he continued, as the passengers grew more and more frustrated.

In a series of follow-up posts on Facebook, the man said complaints from police and Facebook had led to his video being removed. He apologized for his foul language but said the situation was “not funny.”

“I am opposed to the ongoing closures and this whole scenario that is destroying our economy, jobs and racking up massive debt that is not reaching senior care facilities where more than 90 percent of cases have died,” he wrote.

He denied having stopped the boat by rejecting a mask, saying that the boat was already stopped when the conflict began.

“I didn’t want the passengers to be delayed, so I asked for a mask and to take us home.”

The police were informed of this incident and said there was misinformation about the person.

“The police are aware of misinformation related to this incident, where it is implied that the person involved was a member of the police,” said a spokesman.

“This is not the case. The person is not a current or former employee of the Police.”

“Police continue to take an education and encouragement approach and to date no infractions have been issued.”
