A big tree fell on a ute this morning on Middleton Road
A man escaped with only scratches after a large tree fell on his ute during the wild weather Monday morning in Wellington.
Will Howard was on his way to work when the macrocarpa tree landed in the front of his ute on Middleton Road, Churton Park. The large tree covered both lanes, but managed to emerge with minor injuries.
“I was driving for a job in the city and I was there,” he said.
“In the last second I saw a branch fall on top of the ute. I just turned the ute off and jumped as soon as I could. “
