The bach in Tinopai photographed after it was destroyed by flames in a suspicious fire.
Police are searching for a man who they say broke into a Northland bach and used it to cook methamphetamine before fleeing after a fire broke out.
Emergency services rushed to the burning crib on Komiti Rd, Tinopai, on the night of January 22.
The fire is being treated as a suspect.
Police said in a statement that their initial investigations indicated that a man had been living at the property for several months without the knowledge of the owner.

Methamphetamine was manufactured there, according to the statement.
The man was described as European, in his 30s and 40s, with light brown hair and tattoos covering his arms and legs.
He was driving a red hatchback with parts of its body painted black, police said.
“Anyone with information on this man is urged to make contact, particularly anyone who stays in the Tinopai area during the summer and who may have photographed him or his vehicle.”
Detective Andrew Bailey is looking for information on the case.
