A man who allegedly shot eight vehicles on the outskirts of Hamilton will appear in court.

The 32-year-old was arrested “in connection with a series of incidents in which eight vehicles were shot in a rural area of ​​Hamilton,” said Hamilton-area inspector commander Andrea McBeth.

There were three reports of vehicle fire in an area south of Hamilton, the most recent on Friday, July 17, McBeth said in a statement.

In that case, “several moving vehicles were fired upon” on Raynes Road, Rukuhia area.

Two similar incidents in the area occurred on June 6 and 19.

There were no injuries on any of the three occasions.

The arrested man has been charged with eight counts of reckless firing of a firearm and eight counts of intentional damage.

You are due to appear in Hamilton District Court on Friday, October 16.

“The police would like to thank everyone who responded to Police Ten 7’s appeal or provided information that led to today’s arrest,” McBeth said.
