There are still a few kilometers to go for New Zealand rugby star Ma’a Nonu.
The great Ma’a Nonu of the All Blacks returns to Toulon to play in the Top 14 championship in France at the age of 38.
The double World Cup champion has been dubbed the club a “medical joker” to help cover up injuries in midfield.
A statement from Toulon reads: “To compensate for the injuries of Anthony Belleau and Julien Hériteau, the sports staff and President Bernard Lemaitre contacted the New Zealand center.

Rugby player Ma’a Nonu received an honor from the MNZM for her services to rugby at an investiture ceremony at Government House in Wellington.
“After three seasons in Toulon between 2015 and 2018, the All-Black with 104 teams has signed up as an additional player, bringing all his experience to the red and black three-quarter line.

“Ma’a Nonu will arrive in Toulon in the next few days and will participate in the training for the last medical visit.
“Rugby Club Toulonnais is delighted with Ma’a Nonu’s return to Toulon and looks forward to sharing a very good 2020-2021 season with him.”
Nonu joined the ambitious southern French club after the 2015 World Cup.
It took him a while to adjust to the French style of play, but it eventually blossomed.
Nonu played 77 times for Toulon, scoring 14 attempts, before returning to New Zealand at the end of the 2017/18 Top 14 season. He appeared in two Top 14 finals, in 2016 and 2017, but lost both.
He saw more Super Rugby action with the Blues on his return to New Zealand and this year he has coached the Wellington club scene after a brief stint with the San Diego Legion in Major League Rugby in the United States.
