A luxury pleasure boat stranded in Auckland Harbor for days will be rescued.
Plans are underway to move the 15.5-meter Riviera ship after it ran aground on the rocks near the entrance to the Tāmaki River, off Auckland’s St Heliers Beach on December 23.
Two people were on board and were rescued, with no injuries being reported.
An Auckland Harbourmaster spokesman said the launch will be rescued by an insurance company Monday night, after floating in the water for five days.
According to the Riviera website, the company is “Australia’s premium luxury motor yacht builder.”

“It doesn’t leak oil, so it doesn’t cause any problems,” he said.
“A private salvage operator is monitoring it and a salvage operation should take place today, if conditions are right.”
The spokesperson said that the rescue will start at high tide, at 7pm, by Marine Services Auckland Limited.
A spokesman for the salvage company said a team of eight will go out into the water and hand it over to an insurer to assess the damage.
