A motorist took a risk when they used wood to replace the door.

Passerby Kamm Kawau saw the incident on Dunedin’s Andersons Bay Rd on Thursday afternoon.

“Look at the door of this car,” he says in a video seen more than 65,000 times on Facebook.

It shows the driver of a sedan that was stopped by the police. The car is missing the front door on the driver’s side.

“Aw, chur my brother,” Kawau says in the video.

The short clip drew hundreds of comments on Facebook, including from some people who had also seen the wood-paneled vehicle in Dunedin in recent days.

Police were silent about the incident, but confirmed that a job had been “registered as a traffic stop”.
