Wellington Police have brought 11 charges against prominent jail lawyer Arthur Taylor
High-profile jail attorney and ex-con Arthur Taylor faces a series of new serious drug charges.
Taylor, who currently lives in Dunedin, was informed by police Monday of the new charges, which will be heard in Dunedin District Court on December 17.
The charges, brought by Wellington Police, include two counts of supplying gamma-butyrolactone, three counts of offering to supply gamma-butyrolactone, offering to supply methamphetamine, supplying methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine for supply, conspiracy to supply methamphetamine and obtained through deception.
Taylor said police emailed him the charges and he was not arrested.

The crime is alleged to have occurred between February 1 and June 3 of this year.
A police spokeswoman confirmed the charges had been filed and was unable to comment further as the matter is before the courts.
Previously, Taylor launched her own legal business from behind bars and took several high-profile cases against Corrections and Crown. He also successfully prosecuted a jail witness for perjury, not long before he was released on parole in 2019.
Taylor has more than 150 convictions and spent 39 cumulative years behind bars for various crimes ranging from burglary and car theft to kidnapping and several escapes from custody, including an Auckland prison break in Paremoremo in 1998.
