An Italian backpacker says she was “embarrassed and offended” after being asked to leave a Bondi restaurant because of her outfit.

Martina Corradi was at the Bondi restaurant with her boyfriend Thursday when she says a member of staff asked her to leave.

He posted on the Bondi Local Loop Facebook page to ask what people thought of the outfit and if it was inappropriate.

“I just want an opinion … because I felt very embarrassed and offended at the same time,” she posted.

“We did the registration and we sat down [sic] on the terrace outside, in the sun. The waitress, as soon as I sat down, said that I was not well dressed and that it was not acceptable to stay in such a place.

“My boyfriend and I looked at her and we didn’t know what to say. We were shocked!”

She says the manager came over and told her the outfit was inappropriate.

“And she was dressed like that because we went to (Bondi Icebergs) for lunch (fancy dinners),” she posted.

“I just want an opinion. I don’t know, maybe I’m crazy.”

Most people seemed to agree that there was nothing wrong with the outfit.

One woman wrote: “No, you look great, ESPECIALLY for the context of the Bondi Beach restaurant! And it’s dumb if people take offense at a small sample of tit meat, if you were flat, would they be okay with this one? look? I hate having to be conscious just because my breasts look great.

Another woman wrote: “The top looks like a bra, sorry, I hope I’m not insulting. It’s just that I’ve had underwear that looks like this. I also had tops that looked like lingerie.”

One man joked that the problem was that she was actually overdressed.

One woman said, “Ridic, you look great; it would be inappropriate for the office, but not for the beach restaurant.”

Another wrote: “Not at all offensive. Just ridiculous. You look so beautiful.”

Someone else said, “You are beautiful. The top looks a bit like lingerie and your abdomen shows. In restaurants this may go against their dress code.” – News.com.au
