Tim Cox knows the routine, or the lack of it, well, now his water has failed about 15 times in three years.
The children cannot shower, there is no drinking water, clothes will not be washed today.
At least this time when the main water pipe exploded on Severn St, Island Bay, Wellington, Sunday morning coffee had been made.
Cox and his family moved to Severn St three years ago. The first few times the water was shut off due to plumbing problems, that was fine, he said.
“Now it’s just a joke.”

He thought Wellington Water was fixing the pipes, but then the truth came, and now he wasn’t sure if the repairs were ever made.

He followed Wellington Water on Twitter, but there were no leads there on Sunday morning, nor was it on the Wellington Water website.
Wellington City Council posted a tweet Sunday morning saying there was an explosion in the main pipe and odd numbered houses on Severn St would be without water for up to five hours on Sunday.
Wellington City Councilor Fleur Fitzsimons contacted Wellington Water CEO Colin Crampton on Sunday seeking answers and information.
“This is a pipe that I understand was recently repaired.
“There have been constant disruptions and delays for the residents of Severn St and the surrounding area.
