Israel Adesanya received just over $ 1.053 million for his impressive defense of the UFC middleweight title against Paulo Costa.
The Kiwi star made quick work of the Brazilian with a second round win at Fight Island in Abu Dhabi on Sunday.
Adesanya had a $ 916,000 fight guarantee as part of the purse, a reported 10 percent increase in his previous title defense against Yoel Romero as his shares continue to rise in the world’s top MMA championship.

The smart and personable Adesanya also received $ 61,000 for his successful promotional work in the lead up to the fight.

And his totally dominant win saw him get a performance bonus of $ 76,000.

The payouts were revealed as the UFC assimilated the pay-per-view audience that has been revealed, but it was expected to be substantial.
The fight stats revealed just how dominant Adesanya was when she used her remarkable legwork to quickly take down Costa and then finished him off with her lightning hands.

In less than two rounds, Adesanya landed 55 significant punches to Costa’s 12, with a 65 percent hit rate on the punches he attempted.
Adesanya landed 24 of those shots to Costa’s head and only received two in that crucial area from her opponent.
He hit Costa’s legs with 26 successful punches, taking just two in that department.
The difficulty for opponents to enter to try and fight Adesanya was demonstrated with 45 of his significant punches landed from a distance while using those long legs so effectively.
He landed two from close range to knock Costa down and then finished him off with eight punches to the ground before the referee intervened to stop the fight.
