Some Animal Crossing New Horizons players in the northern hemisphere want to know if there is a tarantula-like scorpion island.
Shortly after the launch of Animal Crossing New Horizons in March, many players were telling stories about Tarantula Island. While it was initially hard to believe because it seemed creepy nonsense to count around the campfire, the place turned out to be very true and allowed players to catch dozens of spiders to sell for many bells. And players in the northern hemisphere are now wondering if there is also a scorpion island.
As you probably already know, thanks to the lack of tarantulas around your island, a group of fish and insects left the northern hemisphere in late April. However, instead of donning the Doc Brown lab coat and setting up your time machine, you should know that there are plenty of new fish and critters you can catch in May and during the summer.
One of them is the scorpion instead of the tarantula, and below you will discover whether or not there is a scorpion island.
Is there a scorpion island in Animal Crossing New Horizons?
Yes, there is a scorpion island at Animal Crossing New Horizons.
To visit Scorpio Island, you must use an Animal Crossing New Horizons Nook Miles ticket between 19:00 and 04:00.
Not only that, but players in the northern hemisphere will only find it during the following months:
- May
- June
- July
- August
- September
- October
While the scorpion island exists in place of the tarantula, unfortunately it is so rare that it means that it will be very difficult to finish on it.
Judging from a data mine of all the islands of the mysterious tour, there is only a 2% chance of finding it along with a maximum daily visit of one.
Can you make a scorpion island in Animal Crossing New Horizons?
You can make a scorpion island in Animal Crossing New Horizons.
Making a scorpion island is almost the same as creating one full of tarantulas.
Eurogamer recommends doing it on the bamboo island due to the lack of cliffs, ponds and rivers, and what you should do is remove all the flowers, trees, rocks and any other decorations on the island that can make the insects spawn.
Once you’ve done that, it’s also recommended that you dig holes in the island as a way to protect yourself from the scorpion’s stinger. While this can be annoying, you don’t need to be mad, as if you get stung they won’t kick you off the mysterious island to get back to yours.
Removing everything from the Mysterious Island should only spawn scorpions as long as the game hours are between 19:00 and 04:00. That said, some fans have complained that the build rate is much slower.
If you are lucky and manage to find the scorpion island (or create your own), what you should do is get rid of all your tools except the net, so you can catch as many scorpions as possible.
Then when you return home, you can sell them all for dozens of bells.
