US President Donald Trump has released a new video of the hospital in which he says he is starting to feel better and hopes to “be back soon.”
In the four-minute video posted to Twitter, Trump says he “didn’t feel so good” when he was admitted to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center after testing positive for the coronavirus.
But he says that “I feel much better now” and that “we are working hard to recover.”
Trump sounds a bit hoarse in the video, but appears to be in a good mood as he says he is fighting for the millions of people who have had the virus around the world.

In the video, Trump also defended his decision to continue campaigning and holding large events in the midst of the pandemic.
“I had no choice,” said Trump, who refused to comply with basic public health recommendations, including wearing masks. “It had to be in the front … I can’t be locked in an upstairs room and totally safe. … As a leader, you have to face problems. “
He said that while he could have been locked in the White House to protect himself from the virus, as president he could not be “locked in an upstairs room.”
He also thanks the doctors and nurses who treated him, as well as the world and American leaders who sent their good wishes, likening them to “miracles descended from God.”
The new video follows a series of tweets and another video posted by Trump, thanking everyone for their “tremendous support” following the announcement that he and first lady Melania Trump tested positive for the coronavirus.
Trump’s diagnosis joins a growing number of other Republican figures who have also tested positive, including former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who helped Trump prepare for last week’s debate with former Vice President Joe Biden.
Other prominent people within Trump’s circle who also tested positive include his campaign manager Bill Stepien and his former adviser Kellyanne Conway.
