Seven sharp Host Hilary Barry returns to her radio roots with a stint as a host on The Hits.
Barry will assume the duties at Pick up at 3pm in February, when Laura McGoldrick goes on maternity leave.
“Radio is where it all started for me with my first job as a reporter for Today FM in Wairarapa when Paul Henry signed me up,” Barry said. He has also featured on More FM and Radio Live.

Barry, who was recently named New Zealand TV Personality of the Year, promised, “I won’t break anything while Laura is gone.”
She will continue to lead Seven sharp alongside Jeremy Wells, himself a Radio Hauraki host, during his tenure at The Hits.
TVNZ personality, Have you been paying attention? Y Great baked kiwi Host Hayley Sproull will also cover a round of maternity leave in 2021 when ZM Breakfast host Megan Papas leaves next year.
Sproull has worked with co-host Vaughan Smith on Have you been paying attention? and said that presenting the radio with him would be “incredible”.
Both McGoldrick and Papas announced their pregnancies in recent months after struggling with infertility.
This will be McGoldrick’s second child with her husband, cricketer Martin Guptill, and Papas’s first with her husband, pop singer Andrew.
Hits and ZM owner NZME has also lined up local music trio Sol3 Mio to host the breakfast show on hip hop and R&B station Flava during 2021.
