It was a different story for first-time home buyer Anna Murray, who had just bought her first home in sunny Hawke’s Bay, but did not change houses during that time according to government closing rules.

The Minister of Health did not have the same problem. He reserved moves for March 25. We were on level 3 alert and headed for the closing that same night. He continued to move boxes between houses during alert level 4.
Murray told Newshub that the actions of the Minister of Health were disappointing.
“A little disappointing really [when] Someone who is in a position to set the rules for us as a nation is not really sticking to themselves, particularly when those restrictions have been put in place to keep us all safe and well. “
Newshub asked the Health Minister on Wednesday why there was a different set of rules for him compared to other New Zealanders, but he disagreed.
“There was no different set of rules. I followed the rules at all times.”
That despite the mountain bike crash and the trip to the beach by which the Prime Minister demoted him.
“I feel like a complete idiot, if I’m honest,” he said at the time.
Dr. Clark’s new house is at the end of the old one. But the Ministry of Health rules say, “At alert level 3, you can move out of the house, but only if it’s a long-term move that needs to happen now.”
Dr. Clark told Newshub that the move was “something that was needed for the good of my home” and that he continued to use his former residence as an office.
So, as the Prime Minister and other key ministers were in Parliament on March 25 declaring a state of national emergency, the Minister of Health moved home.
“I can tell you I didn’t have … This was just a normal change of home,” said Dr. Clark. “People reserve moving companies in advance.”
The prime minister said he was aware of the situation.
“I knew that the minister had moved home before the confinement, before the confinement.”
Only a few hours passed before the closure, and we already knew how serious the situation was: two days before, the Prime Minister had made it clear: he warned that tens of thousands of Kiwis could die if the closure rules were not followed.
Opposition leader Simon Bridges told The AM Show that Dr. Clark should not serve as Minister of Health due to violations of the rules.
“The Prime Minister has no confidence in him, she did not do it anyway. This is her third attack, and I think she should be gone.”
The Prime Minister wanted to fire Dr. Clark earlier this month and is still on notice.
She said on Wednesday: “I do not give any minister guarantees of anyone’s future because we all have to maintain standards throughout our practice in these roles.”
But moving out of the house just before and during closing seems to meet its standards.
