The government is asking people in west and south Auckland to get tested for Covid-19 this morning, even if they have no symptoms of the coronavirus.

A post on the Unite Against Covid-19 Facebook page, shared yesterday and labeled an “important message,” urges people in both areas to get tested when possible.
“If you develop symptoms consistent with Covid-19, get tested,” the post read.
“If you are in the south or west of Auckland, or if you have a higher risk of health problems if you contract Covid-19, even if you don’t have symptoms, get tested.
“You can get tested with your doctor or at a community testing center. Covid-19 tests are free. “
The post then ended with links to test sites across the country today.
The post comes as Auckland will leave its Level 3 lockdown tonight after a cluster of the virus formed two weeks ago following an outbreak from an unknown source.
Since then, the new Auckland group has racked up 133 cases and earlier this week a subgroup connected to a church on Mt Roskill was discovered.
