A girl was killed by a car on the grounds of an Auckland school.

The boy was taken to Starship Hospital after being hit by a car outside Pigeon Mountain Elementary School in Bucklands Beach on Tuesday morning.

The girl died Tuesday morning with her family by her side at the hospital, Manukau East County Police Chief Sgt. Anson Lin said.

“The police extend our condolences to his family at this incredibly difficult time.”

“We have been providing whatever support we can to the family, as well as the school community in general, which has been greatly affected by this incident.”

Police have banned a 77-year-old man related to the incident from driving.

Director Ian Dickinson said Things The staff was grieving the loss of one of their students.

“Words cannot describe the sadness we feel for one of our families,” he said.

In a message shared on the school’s website, Board member Mark Eades and Dickinson confirmed that the girl died with her family by her side.

“We must support the discussion about the event, the feelings it generates and the ways to respond,” says the message.

School staff were informed of plans and guidelines for discussing the incident and understanding the reactions.

“We have had the support of specialists from the Ministry of Education in this area. Our staff will be available to the children and we have obtained outside help to support the children. “

“As was the case last week, our library has become a safe space for children to seek advice and share their thoughts and emotions.”

Police will continue to work with partner agencies to help ensure that those who require support have access to it, Lin said.

“The police will seek to reveal the girl’s name in due course.”

“The police investigation into the accident is ongoing and there are no further updates at this time.”
