Gabrielle Mullins died of stage four cancer on August 27.
The owner of Powerstation, a popular Auckland music venue, died of cancer.
Gabrielle Mullins was diagnosed with stage four cancer in early 2020 that had spread throughout her body.
She had been raising funds through Givealittle to pay for Keytruda’s unfunded cancer treatment, but died on August 27 surrounded by her family.
Gabrielle had been a co-owner of Powerstation since 2009 with her partner Peter Campbell, and was the “heart and soul” of the place.

Longtime friend Carmel Bennett who had known the couple and their daughter Coco Campbell for 25 years said the cancer had struck aggressively and its decline was rapid.
“He fought to the end, he really was a force of nature,” Bennett said.
Gabrielle had an incredible passion for both people and music, she said, which is why she bought the popular venue.
“I was so passionate about the Powerstation and about life in general. Everything was detailed. “
Gabrielle had a great love for her partner and daughter, as well as her two small dogs, Bennett said.
“They were the loves of his life.”
One thing Bennett said he would always remember about Gabrielle was her ability to chat with anyone.
“It didn’t matter who you were in the industry, she just walked up to someone and found something in common with them and had a good chat.
“He worked tirelessly behind the scenes of shows and had an incredible eye for design.
“When he got sick, I took photos of the way he set up the green room, so I could make it look exactly like it did when he left.”
The Powerstation is currently closed due to Covid-19 restrictions.
Bennett said it would remain under Campbell’s ownership and is expected to reopen in October.
A funeral for Gabrielle was held on September 4 and was streamed live so that friends and family who couldn’t be there in person due to Covid-19 restrictions could see it.
The Powerstation has been a fixture on Auckland’s Mt Eden Rd for over 30 years.
During that time, high-profile musicians such as Lorde, Kendrick Lamar, Radiohead, The Pixies and Snoop Dogg have performed to sold-out crowds.
