With borders closed around the world, the travel agency has struggled.
Today, Managing Director David Coombes confirmed that 160 jobs will be cut in the latest restructuring and 23 stores will be closed.
“We are heartbroken to again downsize our team and say goodbye to a host of talented and passionate people in our business,” he told 1 NEWS in a statement.
“Our people are at the core of who we are, so this, of course, is heartbreaking.”
He maintains that the company will be able to survive in the future, despite recent job losses.
“These decisions, difficult as they are, are made to do just that [survive] so that we can continue to support our customers through the impact of Covid-19, “he says.
Stores will be closed at the end of the month, says Flight Center.
In July, Flight Center announced that it would lay off about 230 employees by the end of August.
It also closed 58 stores indefinitely in April.
