Officials from the National Organized Crime Group carried out 10 search warrants at addresses in Auckland and Tokoroa as part of a methamphetamine distribution operation, National Organized Crime Group Detective Inspector Colin Parmenter said in a statement.

It comes after police found a small amount of methamphetamine, approximately $ 300,000 in cash, and five firearms, three rifles including a military-style assault rifle and two shotguns, after an initial search for an address in West Auckland last Friday.

Police today located $ 100,000 in cash and confiscated an additional amount of methamphetamine, he said.

Since then, five men have been arrested and will appear in the Auckland and Tokoroa District Courts facing a number of charges, including possession of methamphetamine for supply, conspiracy to trade methamphetamine, supply of methamphetamine, money laundering, illegal possession of firearms and participation in organized crime. group.

“During the period of confinement, the police have continued to work hard to hold organized criminal groups and drug criminals to account,” Parmenter said.
