On Friday afternoon, November 27, her close friend, a real estate agent from East Auckland, saw her alive for the last time before leaving her home in Suzetta Pl at around 4.30pm.

Later that night, an unknown killer or killers arrived at the $ 2 million house at the end of the short cul-de-sac.

Zhong was stabbed to death with a sharp knife in a corner of her third floor room.

A person who later viewed his body said he sustained serious injuries to his face and neck.

In a statement provided Thursday, Detective Inspector Shaun Vickers of the Manukau Counties Criminal Investigation Branch did not confirm the nature of Zhong’s injuries except to say that he was the target of a violent attack.

“For reasons of privacy and operational security, we will not comment on any person of interest as part of Operation Attina,” he said.

“The police deal with the facts as part of our investigation and speculation is useless.

“While we cannot comment on the specifics of our inquiries, I can say that our investigation continues to advance every day.”
