Police confirmed that a person was electrocuted on a rural property in Ngatira, South Waikato.
A man is dead and a girl has been taken to hospital in serious condition following an incident with power lines in South Waikato.
A police spokesman said two people received electric shocks after being struck by power lines around 4.55 p.m. M. Sunday at a rural address in Ngatira, in the South Waikato district.
Police confirmed that one man died at the scene after being electrocuted, while the second person was seriously injured.

The emergency services have been responding to the incident on Sunday night.

A St John Ambulance spokeswoman said the service received a call Sunday at 4.51 p.m. of an incident in the Ngatira area.

The San Juan ambulance first arrived at the scene around 5.15 p.m. Sunday.
