In a video posted on Twitter, a trailer featuring the Advance NZ logo can be seen coming out of Lynden Court in Chartwell, Hamilton.
1 NEWS reached out to the person who posted the short clip, who said he passed right in front of a voting booth and made a return to the parking lot.
A spokesman for the Electoral Commission says that while it will not take formal action, it will communicate.
“We will follow up with the game to remind them of the rules.
“Our staff reports that the car and trailer made a loop around the parking lot, which would have brought them within 10 meters of the polling place entrance.”
Advance New Zealand’s Jami-Lee Ross told 1 NEWS that she had not heard of the incident and had not heard from the Election Commission.
“All of our candidates have been given the electoral law manual,” he said.
He said that if it was a party volunteer, he was “more than happy to make sure the volunteer in question knows the laws.”
He added that he believes it is important that New Zealand’s electoral laws are followed.
