The US elections got much closer for Sydney residents on Sunday, when the skies over Harbor City turned into a giant message of support for Donald Trump.
On Sunday morning, the words “Trump 2020” were written by sky writers over Sydney’s famous beaches.
Despite the fact that the election was called for Democrat Joe Biden and Trump’s claims of vote manipulation have not been proven so far, the message seems to suggest that Trump could still win a second term.
The writing could be seen from Bondi to the western interior and north coast of the city.
Opinions were mixed on the sudden appearance of the soaring sign of support.
“What madman decided to ruin a beautiful day in Sydney with this?” asked University of Sydney academic professor Tim Stephens.
He created his own doctored version that predicted the eventual loss of Trump.
But NewsCorp columnist Rita Panahi, who is currently in quarantine at a Sydney hotel, tweeted that she found the message quite amusing.
In the United States, the convulsions continue over the disputed election.
Trump briefly attended a rally held on his behalf in Washington DC on Saturday.
Several thousand Trump supporters flocked to the capital city to urge Trump not to grant the election amid unsubstantiated allegations of voter fraud.
MAGA’s so-called Million March didn’t attract anywhere near that many people, but about 10,000 supporters of the president made their feelings known that they want Trump to stay in office.
