Donald Trump reportedly pushed one of his closest allies, his personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani, under the bus by refusing to pay his dazzling legal bills.

The former New York mayor supported the president through thick and thin, and played a key role in Trump’s failed attempts to overturn the results of the November presidential election in various legal challenges.

He traveled across the nation to the changing states won by Joe Biden in recent weeks in an attempt to have the votes in those states re-examined.

But as Trump grows increasingly isolated in his final days in office, he has reportedly turned against Giuliani.

According to the Washington Post, Trump has ordered his aides not to pay Giuliani’s outstanding fees.

Sources told the newspaper that the president is offended by Giuliani’s demand for $ 20,000 a day, a figure that the lawyer denies. They say White House officials have been told not to take any of Giuliani’s calls.

The gap has been denied by Trump’s aide Jason Miller, who tweeted: “I just spoke to President Trump and he told me that @RudyGiuliani is a great guy and a patriot who dedicated his services to the country! We all love the Mayor of the United States! “

However, reports of a break with the president are not the only thing Giuliani has to worry about. He is also coming under fire for the comments he made in the run-up to last week’s riots and made a strange excuse to justify them overnight.

Addressing Trump’s Save America rally in Washington last week, Giuliani said: “I am willing to risk my reputation, the president is willing to risk his reputation for the fact that we are going to find criminality there.” He added: “Let’s test by combat.”

In an interview with The Hill newspaper this week, he said he was only quoting Game of Thrones, which he believed to be a “documentary.”

He explained that he was referring to the “type of trial that took place against Tyrion in that famous documentary about fictional medieval England.”

“When Tyrion, who is a very small man, is accused of murder. He did not commit murder, he cannot defend himself and hires a champion to defend him,” Giuliani said.

He was referring to Tyrion Lannister, the character played by actor Peter Dinklage, and an incident that happened to him in the first season of the hit HBO show.

To be clear, Game of Thrones has no basis in reality and is a fantasy series based on books by writer George RR Martin.

Giuliani told The Hill that at the rally he was calling for a “machine-to-machine trial,” essentially a call for Dominion’s “crooked” voting machines to be examined.

“I challenge you to let us examine your machines. And then I tell you that the consequences of the trial by combat will be that if they prove them wrong, we will be extremely ashamed, we will be disgraced,” he said. . “If we prove them wrong, they go to jail.”

In another lawyer headache, the break with the president may be a blow to your hopes of receiving a presidential pardon.

Criminal charges for illegal campaign donations have been brought against two Giuliani associates, Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman, who worked to try to unearth Biden and his son Hunter.

The U.S. Treasury on Monday imposed sanctions on four Ukrainians who aided Giuliani in an election campaign effort to smear Biden.

Former Ukrainian government officials Konstantin Kulyk, Oleksandr Onyshchenko, Andriy Telizhenko and current Ukrainian lawmaker Oleksandr Dubinsky were called part of an effort led by “Russian agent” Andrii Derkach to undermine Biden’s presidential career, the Treasury said.

All four were in contact with or meeting with Giuliani in late 2019 as he tried to gather evidence that now President-elect Biden and his son Hunter were involved in corruption in Ukraine.
