Lydia Ko had a frustrating weekend at the KPMG PGA Women’s Championship.

New Zealand’s top golfers Lydia Ko and Ryan Fox topped the pace in their respective big tournaments on both sides of the Atlantic.

Ko fired a final round 1 over 71 to finish in a tie for 18th at the KPMG PGA Women’s Championship in Pennsylvania.

Fox finished tied for 20th after shooting a respectable 2-under-70 on the final day of the prestigious PGA BMW European Tour Championship at the Wentworth Golf Club in Surrey.

South Korea’s Sei Young Kim won his first major title by shooting a sensational 7-under 63 at the Aronimink Golf Course.

Kim, 27, had 10 LPGA tour victories but no major titles entering the tournament, but sealed the championship with a round to remember at Aronimink, winning $ 645,000.

After a surprise in the third round of 4-over, Ko got off to a rocky start to his final round, posting three bogeys in the top nine.

She got it back with two birdies in the last nine, but it was another disappointment for the former world number one.

Britain’s Tyrrell Hatton beat Frenchman Victor Pérez for a four-stroke victory in Surrey.

Hatton shot 67 under par for a win that will take him into the world’s top 10 when this week’s rankings are released.

“It’s a dream come true for me. When I was five years old and walking around here, I always wanted to be inside the ropes playing when I was older,” Hatton said as he lifted the trophy.

“This is such a great event and getting over the line and winning here is such a special feeling.

“It was a career goal to be in the top 10 in the world rankings, so winning here and achieving it in the same week is very special.”
