Two New Zealand Defense Force staff members are at the center of the latest Covid-19 community outbreak in New Zealand.

The first person to become ill was a service staff working at the Jet Park quarantine facility in Auckland.
They were confirmed to be infected on Friday.
The second person is a civilian NZDF employee who met the first person in Auckland on Wednesday.
They were identified as a close contact and subsequently tested positive.
The civilian is based out of NZDF headquarters in Wellington and flew back to the capital on Air NZ Flight 457 on Thursday night.
The people who sat near them were asked to take the test and isolate themselves, as were their household contacts.
Around 1,300 people work at Defense House, which is closed for deep cleaning, and staff work from home.
“We take the health and safety of our military personnel and civilian employees very seriously, and we will do everything we can to keep people informed and manage the situation,” said Deputy Chief of the Defense Force, Deputy Air Marshal (AVM ) Tony Davies. in a sentence.
