Wallabies legend David Campese has admitted he’s eating humble pie this week after the All Blacks defeated the Wallabies on Sunday in the second round of the Bledisloe Cup in Auckland.

Since then, Campese said the All Blacks fans have given him hell for the comments, but the only ones who really silenced him were the players themselves with the 27-7 victory.
“Yes, I am eating humble pie. I would like to congratulate the All Blacks again, ”Campese said on social media.
Another great victory. It is always good to cheer people up before a game. Unfortunately, the Wallabies didn’t show up. “
Campese took the time to offer his opinion on the contest after that, suggesting that while the All Blacks were impressive at Eden Park, Dave Rennie and the Wallabies still have plenty of room to grow.
“I think the game just showed that when the All Blacks are under pressure, they play very well,” Campese said.
“A great team effort and also the important thing was that they were hungry. The Wallabies seemed to think that last week’s game would help them this week. A very young team. We just need a few more leaders on the field and I have to realize that if we don’t have the ball we can’t win.
“Congratulations again. I’d like to thank all the All Blacks fans who gave me hell over the weekend. But that’s life. I can move on. I can handle it.”
Campese could get his wish sooner, however, with Rennie and the Wallabies now hosting the All Blacks in Australia for Bledisloe’s last two games, though the Australians will need to win both at home to regain the Cup.
