Police have a series of warrants to arrest 27-year-old Daryl Hemopo, who they say did not return to Mt Eden Correctional Center after the court granted him compassionate bond to attend a relative’s tangihanga.

Police say they were notified yesterday afternoon after Hemopo failed to return to prison as ordered by the court and they have been making inquiries to locate him ever since.

He has several active warrants on serious charges including aggravated robbery, indecent assaults on women over 16 and assaults on the police.

Police want the public to call 111 immediately if they see Hemopo or know where he is.

They say yours is “considered dangerous” and should not be addressed. He is described as 161 cm tall with a slim build.

Anyone with information should contact police Olivia Gregory at 105.
