The White Ferns have tied their Twenty20 series with Australia after the third and final Twenty20 was abandoned due to persistent rain in Auckland.
The game managed to get underway 90 minutes after the scheduled 3:00 pm start time, but after 2.5 overs, the rain fell again and the players never returned to Eden Park.
It will be a shame for the White Ferns, who had a chance to seal a rare series win over Australia, with their T20 series tied 1-1.
And, with Australia battling 14-1 in the reduced 13-over clash, their chances of winning their first series over their transtasman neighbors increased since 2017.
However, the rain finally had the last word, and the two teams shared the trophy.
The teams are now gearing up for a three-game ODI series, which begins Sunday, and the White Ferns have failed to beat the dominant Australian ODI team in a series since 2000, with 17 consecutive series losses.
