Covid 19 coronavirus: where to get tested in Auckland, Northland today

[ad_1]

Anyone who has visited a dozen new locations of interest, including supermarkets, restaurants, and retail stores, in Auckland is urged to get tested for Covid as soon as possible.

The information comes after the Health Ministry made an announcement late at night confirming that two more people who had been in controlled isolation at the Pullman Auckland hotel tested positive for Covid-19.

As a result, officials have released 12 new locations in and around the North Shore and Albany areas.

Anyone who has visited the sites at the same time as the infected person is advised to isolate themselves at home immediately and call Healthline on 0800 611 116 to get tested.

If you get a test, stay isolated until you receive the result of that test.

People with flu-like symptoms are also urged to get tested for the virus as a precautionary measure.

Chief Health Officer Dr. Ashley Bloomfield said last night: “It’s important that the right people isolate themselves and get tested, so we don’t overwhelm the testing centers.

“We understand that many will be anxious, but it is important to remember that we are taking these steps as a precaution.”

He said there was so far no evidence to suggest community transmission, but reiterated the need for “the right people” to isolate themselves and get tested.
