A person infected with Covid visited three restaurants and a car rental shop at Auckland Airport on Thursday night, before visiting a Malaysian restaurant in Wellington.

On the evening of November 5, the new case, a contact for a quarantine worker in Auckland, visited Avis Car Rental at Auckland Airport, Orleans Chicken & Waffles, The Gypsy Moth and Hudsons Cafe.

The person was in the domestic terminal at Auckland Airport from 5.30 to 7.45 p.m. on Thursday night before flying to Wellington.

In Wellington, the person visited the Malaysian restaurant Little Penang at lunchtime.

• Avis Car Rental, Auckland Airport: 5 November 5 – 5.15 pm

• Orleans Chicken & Waffles, Auckland Airport: November 5, 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM

Anyone who has visited these businesses during the relevant time periods is considered a “casual contact” of Covid-19 with a low risk of exposure, says the Health Ministry.

Close contacts have been contacted directly.

Notifications have been sent to people who logged in with the Covid Tracer app at these companies.

The alert has informed users that they may have been in contact with Covid-19.

“This case reinforces once again the importance of everyone who can use the application to keep a record of where they have been,” says the Ministry of Health.

“It allows our contact tracing team to quickly notify you if you may have been exposed to this virus and allows you to take immediate action to protect yourself, your whanau and your community.”

The new case flew from Auckland to Wellington on Thursday on flight NZ 457, in row 23.

Officials are now asking everyone seated two rows from the worker to get tested and self-isolate until Nov. 19.
