Another student at a West Auckland primary school tested positive for Covid-19.

Henderson North School has told its school community that the student was a close contact from a previous case that has now tested positive.

The Auckland Regional Public Health Service has confirmed to the school that there are no close contacts at the school.

The student has been in self-isolation in recent days and was not contagious the last time he attended school, the health service said.

It says the risk to other students or staff is very low and the school must remain open.

He is the second student at the school to be confirmed positive this week.

Previously, a senior at St Dominic’s Catholic College was confirmed to be infected with Covid.

The entire school community has been asked to undergo a covid test after the girl attended classes for three days last week while infected.

The surrounding schools asked parents to keep boys who had siblings at girls’ college at home as a safety measure.

Both cases of school covid are connected to a grieving subgroup of the Mt Roskill Evangelical Fellowship mini-group.

There are now 25 cases of that event with 46 church-related cases.
