New Zealand will remain at alert level 1 after the source of the last community case of Covid-19 is found. The case, an AUT student in her 20s, has been genomically linked to the Defense worker who was infected in a quarantine hotel.

Two New Zealanders flying to the Cook Islands went into quarantine after one was found to be at a location in Auckland visited by a woman who recently contracted Covid-19.

The positive case of Covid-19 in the woman, in her 20s, has made health authorities strive to identify the source and extent of her infection.

Auckland city center workers were asked to work from home on Friday, while people living in the same complex of Vincent St Residences on Vincent St were also isolated in their apartments and screened.

Health authorities also published a list of all the stores the woman visited when she had symptoms of Covid-19 and was potentially infectious.

Now, a person has reportedly flown to the Cook Islands after visiting one of these locations designated by health authorities, Newshub reported.

The person along with another was quarantined.

The news came as New Zealand officials were due to arrive in the Cook Islands today as part of the ongoing work to investigate a possible travel bubble.

While reluctant to set a deadline, this week Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said there could be a bubble a few weeks after authorities gave the green light.

The Cook Islands have had no reported cases of Covid-19 and are eager for tourism to restart.

Covid-19 Response Minister Chris Hipkins said officials would be in the Cook Islands for about a week.

It was unclear what effect today’s news would have on bubble plans.

Meanwhile, the woman in Auckland reported that she felt ill on Monday, had a test on Tuesday but went to work and wore a mask at AZ Collections on High St after that.

The list of sites you visited while potentially infectious can be seen below.
