There are no new Covid-19 cases to report in New Zealand today, according to the Health Ministry.

Three previously reported cases have now been recovered, meaning the total number of active cases in New Zealand is 56.

The total number of confirmed cases is 1,722.

The Health Ministry says there were 5,530 tests for Covid-19 yesterday, bringing the total number of tests to 1,309,992.

There are now 2,394,300 registered users of the Covid-19 tracking app, and 133,782,991 poster scans have been performed to date.

There have been 5,389,423 manual entries in the journal, reports the ministry.

Yesterday there were nine new cases, all in isolation.

That followed news Friday that there were no new cases that day, the first day of no new cases since Oct. 19.

Eight of those announced on Saturday were active cases, which are contained, and the other was a landmark case.

Of the eight, half were traveling separately and arrived on November 30 from the United States.

They tested positive on routine tests on day three. All have been transferred to the Auckland quarantine facility.

Yesterday’s update revealed that 11 previously reported cases had recovered, bringing New Zealand’s total number of active cases to 59.

As New Zealand approaches summer vacation, the Health Ministry is warning Kiwis not to get complacent.

“With the countdown to Christmas, the ministry is calling on anyone hosting a party for the staff to make sure that everyone who attends is okay,” he said in a statement this week.

“If someone who was planning to attend is not feeling well, consider how you can include them in your celebrations through a video call or other means that ensure they can participate while everyone is safe.”
